The Fishery, East Rockaway

Hello everyone, welcome to our first husband and wife Dining Experience Blog: LI Dining Couple. The Fishery in East Rockaway. We found this restaurant through the FIOS 1 show "Restaurant Hunter" hosted by Rob Petrone. On that episode he had the lobster roll which is served either hot or cold at The Fishery. Rob said this was a great sandwich and I must say it did look good. We unfortunately did not have this when we had lunch there on Saturday June 9, 2012. We did however have the Fried Calamari appetizer (that the waitress told us came in frozen and pre-breaded) a big disappointment for a seafood restaurant! My Po-Boy sandwich with fried oysters sadly was worse than calamari. The wife on the other hand had the broiled Flounder and she thought that was OK. The onion rings are cut a bit too large but the batter is really good. If this batter is used on their Fish N Chips they should be a hit! The desert was the highlight of the meal, the Pecan Pie is AWESOME although we don't know if it is made in-house. All in all not the worst place we have ever been to and we will give it another try some day to sample other dishes.

For this visit they get one fork out of five.
